ABOUT VAN ALEN BOOKS Van Alen Books is an architecture and design bookstore, event space and public reading room located at Van Alen Institute’s headquarters in Manhattan’s Flatiron District. Opened in April 2011, this highly visible storefront space is New York City’s only book emporium and gathering place devoted singularly to architecture and design publications.
Van Alen Books gratefully acknowledges the support of Furthermore: a program of the J.M. Kaplan Fund, and Van Alen Circle members. Van Alen Books is also supported, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, and through public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
